Three M Tool and Machine, Inc. of Commerce Township and Wixom, Michigan has just completed the first phase of our new Wixom facility. The 43,000 square feet, temperature controlled, state of the art, facility dedicated to large milling and turning for the aerospace, military, gas and oil, mining, construction and wind energy industries.
To complement our four new Giddings and Lewis CNC boring mills (PT1800 and 3x RT1600) and our new Giddings and Lewis turning and milling center (VTC 2500); we have just commissioned our new high precision Zeiss MMZ-G coordinate measuring machine (CMM). It measures SIX meters in X, FOUR meters in Y and THREE meters in Z. It is the only Zeiss in the Western Hemisphere with the capability of measuring three cubic meters! The Zeiss MMZ-G is a bridge-type machine construction for high accuracy, measuring performance and resistance to ambient conditions. The CMM is equipped with the VAST® gold standard head which is an active scanning probe for contact scanning and single-point measurements. The MMZ-G is already up and running and has been calibrated and certified by Zeiss.
